The Fontainebleau Competition, organised by the Ile-de-France union of cheese-makers took place on Wednesday 25th February from 9 am to 11:30 am.

The 2nd edition was compered by Éric Lefebvre, one of France's foremost cheese-making craftsman!

The candidates had to prepare dishes in front of the work assessment and tasting judges, proving their mastery and their creativity in relation to this original product from the Ile-de-France region. The trials involved 3 sessions: traditional recipe, savoury recipe and sweet recipe.
A major change for this year was that the contestants put their three Fontainebleau cheese platters together in front of the general public.

Savoury recipe results

Virginie Dubois, from "Fromagerie La Finarde à Arras", won the competition for the savoury recipe session. She was the only one from Pas-de-Calais, the other candidates were from Ile-de-France region.

Sweet recipe results

Luciana Ladeira Mafra, from "Fromagerie Formaticus & Bar à fromages" in the 17th district in Paris, won the sweet recipe session.
